This is exactly what happened to OPK in Dec of 2013 by Lakewood Capital. After the bashing, however, OPK went to $19.23/share at which OPK bot BRLI with OPK shares that had no value (as all agree).

The way Frost recoups his loss in OPK. which BRL caused in spades, is a sale of BRL. It would enable him to crush the shorts that advantaged his purchase of BRL and with the new OPK shares issued to buy BRL shorted it down to $2.34/share with the help of Mark Cuban and his friends at SDNY. I would not be surprised if he brought Dr Cohen in to make a takeover extremely attractive to an AMZN by year end when BRL shows its turnaround is complete.
