If Andrew Left, of Citron, comes out with a short thesis alleging this or that about something in which one is invested on the long side, the critical thinking part of the brain (so much of which is active in as few as there are), finds the fatal flaws in Left's assertions, goes on to reaffirm an opinion, and ignores....or even contradicts Left's assault.
And on the political side, things seem to be, for the main part, some kind of dogma.
Seems people just don't want to see bias, connections, affiliations where they obviously are. And what is the difference between those things and being short Donald Trump?
Does Left mention the good, or does he focus on the "bad" with intensity?
One rule of thumb about dissertations on stocks, or anything under the sun, is that one who only hammers the downside, or upside, conspicuously omitting the one or the other, is not doing analysis. One is doing propaganda.
The first duty of a critically thinking reader is to recognize what is analysis and what is propaganda. Slightly easier to do with stock blurbs; harder to do with political screeds. And that is what they call " bias confirmation."
Bias is not all that useful, but confirmation of facts is. But it takes work, digging, sourcing and the willingness to admit one's initial impression (original or externally informed) was wrong.
It doesn't help in the search for truth when sides are falsely created. "Red team, blue team." We're already nose to nose, knuckle down on the 50 yard line with only one possible next event.......a clash. Is McCain a Republican? No, he is not. He's a RINO (republican in name only -RINO). So many are. How does that work on the iconic Thanksgiving Day game if a Dallas Cowboy lineman is actually employed by Detroit?
Well, I sense I am drifting. Maybe something to think about, maybe not.
There was this long reply, totally off topic in the comments section on Zerohedge. Think the topic was Tesla. Anyway, this guy went on and on about how Comey, Mueller, Rosenstein, Clintons, Lois Lerner, some others, were all linked together. I was going to post it here until I checked an assertion made.....Rosenstein's wife. Said the internet had been scrubbed of any mention. Not true. So I deleted my post. However, some of the connections might have been accurate....and damning. I can't find it now, but if I could, I'd post it with annotations such as I could provide.
There is something wrong with what is going on in Washington, District of Corruption. And if one does not recognize that fact, then one is (sorry to say) a "sheeple." And it is not just the usual whoreish behavior that retires "public servants" as multi-millionaires, but rather something much more sinister. It comes from both teams, but seems to me to be mostly on the side of one.
In the meantime, how long before the Dems just drop the pretense and declare one for all, and all for Socialism?
