Making Precision Oncology Accessible through Companion Diagnostic Partnerships

Last week, heading to American Association of Cancer Research 2018, we announced partnerships with Bristol-Myers Squibb and Loxo Oncology for the development of clinically actionable, sequencing-based diagnostics to enable precision oncology.
We are working with Bristol-Myers Squibb on companion diagnostics to measure genomic biomarkers, including Tumor Mutation Burden, that may predict whether patients will respond to immunotherapy checkpoint inhibitors, Yervoy and/or Opdivo. And we are partnering with Loxo to develop a multi-gene panel for broad tumor profiling, based on two of their pan-cancer drug candidates: larotrectinib and Loxo-292.
Cancer patients may not have multiple chances to receive the right combination of drugs so diagnostics must be accurate and reproducible. And there is a need for standards. We will use our TruSight™ Oncology assays – TST 170 and TSO 500 - on our NextSeq 550Dx instrument, to provide distributable companion diagnostics that labs can use to test patient tumors.
Together with BMS and Loxo Oncology, we’re making progress towards the promise of precision medicine.
