A few months ago, I came down with something like a flu. I was unable to get an appointment with my internist.....so I actually went to a walk in clinic run by Baptist health near my home. Yes, I had to drive several blocks to get there. I subsequently retained a concierge physician.
Now I have stumbled across an app from Baptist Health South Florida Care on Demand (and I'm sure they have them elsewhere).....that "allows you to use any mobile device or or PC" 24/7 to "see" a physican and for many of the most common issues....
I guess this is no biggie for those 30 and under but it is a huge departure from the medicine most of us are used to. And.... inevitably it should effect the way scripts are written....and the way drugs and pitched to prescribers who may be faceless cogs in the great medical app wheel.
We have great discussions here and many people in the field. I am curious what thoughts others may have on how this will effect pharma, bio, labs etc. Thanks, Miami
