They left in a huff. I missed the time to exit so I still hold this ... should have sold at a loss but surprise: it's not DOA yet.

The first patient has been enrolled in Protalix BioTherapeutics' (NYSEMKT:PLX) Phase 2 clinical trial assessing OPRX-106 in ulcerative colitis (UC). Initial data should be available in the second half of next year.
The open-label two-arm study will enroll 20 subjects with mild-to-moderate UC. Participants will be randomized to receive a daily oral dose of either 2 mg or 8 mg of OPRX-106 for eight weeks. The primary endpoint is safety. Secondary endpoints include clinical response.
If successful, OPRX-106 will be the first oral enzyme treatment for UC. It is a plant-expressed recombinant human tumor necrosis factor receptor II fused to an IgG1 Fc domain. It is based on the company's ProCellEx platform.

Summary
On January 3, 2016, Protalix reported positive interim results in a Phase 2 clinical trial assessing AIR DNase (alidornase alfa) in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF).
Continued success of AIR DNase (alidornase alfa) suggests that it will become a key treatment for all CF patients unlike other current FDA-approved treatments that only benefit small patient populations.
The company has aimed AIR DNase to go after $700M/year Pulmozyme from Roche. Interim Phase 2 results showed significant performance advantages of AIR DNAse over Pulmozyme particularly with respect to mucus viscosity.
Protalix's pipeline has a $10B addressable market - a drug in Phase 3 to treat Fabry disease, AIR DNase for CF, and another in Phase 2 to treat ulcerative colitis.
The company believes that it is funded through the end of 2019 with current cash on hand and sales of its FDA-approved drug alfataliglicerase to treat Gaucher patients in Brazil.
Protalix BioTherapeutics (NYSE:PLX) is a clinical/commercial biotech company focused on the development and commercialization of recombinant therapeutic proteins based on its proprietary ProCellEx platform. This was the first FDA-approved plant cell-expressed drug derived from Protalix's proprietary manufacturing system ProCellEx.

PROTALIX UPDATE

Protalix (NYSEMKT:PLX) has a market cap of less than $70M has almost that amount in cash, and with its new contracted sales of its FDA-approved Gaucher drug to Brazil that will lift 2017 revenues to about $42M it is fully funded through the end of 2019.

The company is making great progress and the market, and large investors in particular, are taking notice. The latest vote of confidence came last week as Canadian medical investor Knight Therapeutics, with a war chest of $700M in cash made a "seed acquisition" of 6.2M PLX shares....or 5% of PLX.

Jonathan Ross Goodman, CEO of Knight commented on the investment:

"We purchased this position in Protalix to plant a seed for a long and healthy relationship that hopefully blossoms into Canadian and Israeli product rights to Protalix's promising pipeline."

Another large pharma having a "seed investment" in PLX its FDA-approved drug partner Pfizer (NYSE:PFE), which own 6% of PLX.

Protalix is unique because with its proprietary ProCellEx platform can develop and manufacture an unlimited drug pipeline. Protalix engineers used this platform to genetically engineer plant-base molecules to overcome limitations and avoid adverse effects of current FDA-approved drugs.

Former TEVA top Executive, and current Protalix CEO since late 2014, made this bullish statement in the company's Review of 2016 and 2017 update on January 9, 2017

"We expect that 2017 will be an extremely important, inflection year for us, with a number of significant commercial and clinical milestones that should bring considerable value to our stockholders."

Frost and Jane had good reason to bail on PLX. I don't feel like digging back into the sorry history (did that already over on YHOO hell).

Suffice it to say, PLX was trading around 10 bucks and was talking about raising a bunch of money in a 2ndary offering priced maybe a little less. At the 11th hour, they plunged the 2ndary price AND lowered the "needed" cash infusion resulting in a stock plunge that no analyst ever understood.

As a result, for no apparent reason (except probably to screw Frost), PLX ended up trading down to a buck.

Thing one must ask ones self is, does a leopard change his spots?

And, though maybe a stretch, if one is looking for people who have it in for Frost, one might not need to look farther than the good folks at PLX.

Conspiracy theory aside, one should be aware that PLX traded as high as 40 bucks back in 2007 (yes it did, no R/S to account for it). And since 2010, has been on a downhill run.

Might be good for a trade here or there, but Frost and Jane gave everybody a clue.
