Dr Frost buys third day in a row

Due to insider trading, I’m curious if he has a defined rule in place that if the stock price drops x%, that initiates a buy from his broker.

I’d agree that Frost buying shares is his intent (or partial intent) to help support the SP slide…but at this point I don’t believe it’s working very well. I’d rather the SP hurry up and hit the bottom so we have a better sense of where the floor truly is.

The market cap for Opko is ~$0.62B. Various board member have estimate Opko's true value to be between $2B and $4B.

But you misquote us, namely Bill and I. We've never said Opko's VALUE is x or y. We've made educated guesses as to what the various needlessly aggregated businesses are WORTH. There is a difference, and it's not merely semantics. As I've said many times, Opko is not a value stock, and therefore value investing principles don't apply. For value to be unlocked, there needs to be some form of catalyst. Ultimately, management, either through their own doing or urged by the BOD, must act. They hold the keys. In some cases, activists can turn them upside down, and shake the keys out of their pockets.

None of these scenarios is likely with Opko. Certainly none seems imminent. The back-of-napkin math that Bill and I have done seems achievable while we're all still vertical only if 1) Opko hires people like us to effect the corporate actions we've proposed, or 2) Opko enters bankruptcy and the asset sales are forced.

Since Frost is apparently content to do little more than buy his own stock, discussions of value in the investment sense are not applicable. Unless and until he and the BOD begin to act in the best interest of shareholders, we'll remain like the car in one of my other posts, with two burnt up racing seats, and a couple flat tires.
