Frost, Hsiao and Rubin bought shares on Friday

The sad reality is what I posted in the "Is Oxy worth anything?" thread.

The evidence shows that nothing the company does nor achieves, nor any amount of insider buys, will change the sobering fact that Frost is still in charge. Markets are not stupid. The stock popped, yes a liberal use of the term, in the first 10 minutes, then returned to the Frostian orbit. The message is loud and clear.

The rhetorical interrogative like "what is the real value of Opko,"* is merely irrelevant and vague. Because the only questions that actually matter are:

Do Elias and Gary hear the message, blaring from the mountaintops?
Will they heed the message?
And do they have a plan to address it?

*I again ask one of our members to post here what he has on Yahoo regarding the "value" of Opko, which he determines to be $3.5 billion, or ~$4.50/share. While it is perhaps an interesting intellectual exercise, it is wasted on Yahoo, where there are maybe 3 or 4 posters who understand the company. There are many more here with a knowledge of both the assets and the history of Opko. And therefore, examination/scrutiny by the latter group would be more useful. For my part, I do not agree with the valuation, but that's just one opinion. Folks here know where I stand: Frost is the cosmological constant in the Opko universe, and yet it's not "constant" in value. While always part of the equation, it varies in value: as other variables increase in number and degree of positivity, the "constant" automatically adjusts, negating the impact, and causing the sum of the equation to remain constant, or trapped in a descending range.

Who knows. Most, if not all, of their buys over at least the last 8+ years are at a loss. 

It's quaint that they're buying and, for non-insiders it's more positive than them selling, but it's pure guesswork to draw any specific conclusion from it.

Perhaps Dr. Frost was telling the truth when he said "As you have heard me say before, I can't think of a better investment for my money..."

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Really, give it a rest. That kind of nonsense may fool some mental pygmies on Yahoo. But not here. "Dr Frost works for shareholders".......is that what today's memo says? The stock is a buck thirty six, my suspiciously insistent friend. We need a break from the the defense posturing. If the good doctor works for shareholders, then he needs to find a new line of work, because he's done an atrocious job. The path of the stock over the past 22 months tells the real story.

And, even if the stock rockets to....$2.00, lol, does that mean Frost is a savvy investor, or prove that he's doing a good job? The stock was WELL OVER $4 in January of 2022. So, even if the price triples from here, is that some kind of achievement? Since the negatives of the "hundreds of millions of losses" that you cite from GeneDx, and the CRL, have both been resolved, then you need to ask yourself the question: why hasn't the stock recovered? Even BRLI has showed improvement since January 2022. Yet here we are, stuck.

The negatives have either left the building (GeneDx, CRL) or are evaporating (huge BRLI losses; remember, Q3 even had a teensy bit of revenue GROWTH). Many road blocks removed...yet, $1.36. It doesn't even require a Holmsian epiphany to understand the truth about Opko. It is, to reference Holmes again, not even improbable. It's staring us all in the face. And maybe that truth, as Holmes would say, is even giving Elias and Gary some agita at this point. It's at least mildly interesting that neither decided to join Frost, Jane, Coffee Boy and Pfenniger. Maybe they're waiting until today, or tomorrow. Or, for some other day, a day when they think it's a 'better investment' than it was on Friday or yesterday.
