Phase 3 Safety and Efficacy Study of CTAP101

My post wasn't clear. I was talking about two separate (apparent) dead ends.

First, when I mentioned Bill's convo w/CB, I was in fact referencing the Kidney Week poster. And the possible new indication. Which CB said that they were 'about a month and a half away' from deciding how/with whom to pursue. That is, a big study w/partner or smaller study on their own. At least I think that way the download. BUT, 1) that 45 or so days has now passed; 2) Rayaldee received all of one, rather inscrutable, mention in the new shiny Corporate Presentation; and 3) when Bill brought it up during the call, I believe both EZ and SR acted like there was nothing imminent about the potential new path. I think EZ commented that it was just some interesting data on a poster.....something like that. In any case, it did NOT seem like Opko corporate was about to get behind this idea in a significant way.

Second, the current sales of Rayaldee appear stuck at ~$30 million/year, perhaps due to the sleepy bureaucracy of KDIGO not endorsing Rayaldee as the magic bullet for SHPT in CKD 3&4.

I also wonder about whatever it was that CB said in prior years could be activated outside the kidney, blah blah. Haven't heard much about that recently.

So, what I'm saying is this. The indication for SHPT seems like a rather small market for now, given the glacial time scale for inclusion in KDIGO guidelines. And, the possible new indication seems more like a gleam in CB's eye. So I say sell the whole thing for a respectable sum to CSL Vifor and bank the cash. Instead of continuing to push the boulder up the hill.
