The driving forces behind this are fewer start-ups going public, patents running out on lucrative drugs and the fact that prices of bio pharma targets have "retreated." (I think we can relate to that).
2023 is on track to be the busiest year for M & A since 2019 with such activity reaching $93 Billion in the world in the first half od '23. Possible headwinds lurk, however. ie. The FTC has sued to block the Amgen/Horizon M&A.
What companies are most likely to be targets: Those with drugs in clinical trials bs earlier stage candidates are most desirable base they could fill revenue gaps sooner. 55% this year have been for clinical stage companies. So I will attempt to create a poll below regarding OPK.....Of course, more expansive opinions in the form of posts are welcome.
