Maybe you’ve heard: The technology industry is flush with cash.
These South Florida executives are reaping the benefits of the lucrative sector, raking in more than $137 million altogether in total compensation in 2016.
The Business Journal pulled the Securities and Exchange Commission filings for the region’s public technology companies to find the 2016 compensation packages of the highest-paid executives. In all, 23 executives from seven publicly traded tech firms took home total individual compensation ranging from $546,424 to more than $25 million.
Click the accompanying slideshow to see each executive's compensation in 2016, the most recent year for which data is available.
Year over year, executives' individual compensations fluctuated, at one company as much as 274.96 percent for its chief executive. In fact, a majority of executives' total compensation decreased in 2016, compared to 2015, particularly at companies where shifts in the C-suite occurred.
Total compensation is typically made up of salaries, bonuses and stock options, among other items.
The executives included in the list are from the following South Florida-based companies:
Citrix Systems (NASDAQ: CTXS), Fort Lauderdale
The Hackett Group (NASDAQ: HCKT), Miami
Opko Health (NASDAQ: OPK), Miami (see below)
PetMed Express (NASDAQ: PETS), Delray Beach
SBA Communications (NASDAQ: SBAC), Boca Raton
Ultimate Software Group (NASDAQ: ULTI), Weston "
Miamianne says: 2016 Figure is not for Frost but for Adam Logal, CFO, who made $$1,655,600 down 17.65% dom 2015's $2,010,600. Maybe this is an erroneous article or I'm stuck on the "tech company" designation. Well, maybe we are that, too.
