Short Interest Out, down 21 million shares

I am happy we are below my personal, psychological 10% of O.S. level (a bit arbitrary, I acknowledge).  I hope it continues. 

But when I look at the S.I. on 2/15/19, the price leading up to that date before terms announced, the price (and floor, including the "real" exchange price of $2.90) on 5/7...I feel sick.  Those connected to the convert continue to get the star treatment, while we are given token words.  Sick.  Still no explanation why more dilution to reduce debt when the company has ample liquidity...That is all I will say.

Though slightly irrelevant to the topic, what concerns me of late is if Dr. Cohen decides to throw in a towel. He must have joined this company with a timeline where he wants to be in say 5 years or so. If he sees himself hitting against the wall with no growth prospect, he may start exploring other avenues - including if his previous employer lures him back after seeing what a fantastic job he has done for OPKO.

If Frost if smart, he would see this and work on "succession plan" and perhaps elevate Dr. Cohen to COO if not CEO. I am sure the news will be welcomed by WS.

Cohen's made a bunch of money. My guess is that this is his last stop. It's just a question of how long he lasts. The recent buy may have been something of a token, but I think he likes where he is and I assume that he's hitched his wagon to whatever monetization event or events Frost has stashed in his bag of tricks. 

Re: I am sure the news will be welcomed by WS.......Frost's m.o. is to do what he wants, which is usually the opposite of what WS would like, save a firm or two on the receiving end of his checkbook from an equity or debt deal.

I believe Dr. Cohen has his eye on the prize. And the prize? BRL as a stand alone publically traded company with himself as CEO.

So, I'm thinking there must be something I'm missing that is accounting for this same result occurring repeatedly, no matter the facts of the story.

Your welcome. I assume from your post you believe the Efficient Market Theory tops Benjamin Graham's. Many do.  The part I don't understand is IF THAT IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE how can you still own the stock? 

I can sum up my opinions:
1. I doubt Rayaldee for COVID will be effective. 
2. I believe Rayaldee sales will increase post COVID and VIFOR will be more effective marketing than OPKO.
3. Somatrogon will be approved, Pfizer royalties will make OPKO profitable.
4. Milestone payments from both Pfizer and Vifor will come.
5. I agree with you they should break out GeneDx and I think they are a growth area.
6. BRL will be marginally profitable post COVID
7. Scarlet is interesting but will be a very small piece of BRL.
8. I think EirGen Pharma will potentially large contributor
9. 4K Score is hidden inside BRL, like GeneDx. It does not appear to have gained traction with doctors.
10. Claros is dead. I was a big supporter, but have lost faith.

I also believe OPKO was built to be sold. In fact, I am a little surprised i has not been already.
