WHO Confirms PCR Ct Rate Created False Positives

Can you tell me why you think this is important? Aren't you missing the important fact that changing the PCR Ct threshold wont impact covid19 hospitalizations or deaths in any way.

First, the media informs the public about cases more so than deaths. So it's the fear factor.

Next, if the Ct runs at 40 vs 30, ascribing a death to COVID is dubious at best.

I naturally agree that hospitalizations will not be impacted.

That's all on the medical side, but there is a political side of this.

Biden is out with executive orders about masks and so on. If by changing the Ct to a level that actually confirms a real case of COVID, you can count on the media to pronounce his edicts effective and heroic.

Screw the media and Fauci. I deal with a lot of people and it is everywhere (at least here in Miami) and I personally know people who have died.

And what about the converted refrigerated trucks for bodies, the clear evidence before your eyes of what is going on in hospitals, nursing homes and more and more --- the general population around the world? Is the whole world conspiring to make one administration in the US look better than the other?

Highly unlikely, in fact, impossible. This is not a USA problem.

Is everything that causes businesses to shut down or people to be prudent fake? I have never seen anything like this but my grandmother did in 1918. But perhaps we live in different worlds. In my world the earth is not flat....... IMHO

It sort of looks like we are not allowed to question the accuracy of the ct number, because it has ripple effects in what decisions were made and opens up the idea of a Monday Morning QB to a whole new level. 

But this is scientific discovery, when the facts change, you change your mind. 

People die every single day in tragic deaths and we don't ban things because to LIVE in this world requires personal responsibility and risk.  Stricter protocols ARE REQUIRED for those in long term care who cannot exercise this responsibility freely (and there are other situations).  Perhaps if the fear factor in the asymptomatic spread did not develop there may have been more resources (testing) to go around for those situations to be more appropriately managed.  From the get go I have been championing the role local/state health officials play in managing their resources (ICU beds), that is one resources we all need to share.  And we are all in this together.  I have no problem limiting my contact, wearing a mask, etc.  I think many obstinate people exacerbated an already tenous situation by giving the local/state/fed governments the middle finger (remember, spring break travel?).  We also cannot be trusted to "do the right thing" with our own personal responsibility.  And that is the rub...I suspect 49% of the population can be trusted and 49% cannot, which requires the horseblanket approach to everything.

But I really sympathize with the many many small businesses that will never reopen.  They have lives too, and families to support.  Where do they end up in 10 years; bankrupt on the streets?  This would be much speculation...but in many ways, I think the economy was just "reshaped" because it was getting too easy to "make it" without a corporate or government safety net.

This reminds me of WMDs in Iraq.  They WERE THERE (regardless if you agree with going to get them or not).  Army EOD members reported early and often of disposing of old artillery shells and suffered symptoms of nerve agents.  But what got buried is that some of them had U.S. markings on them from when we supplied Sadam the weapons during Iran-Contra.  And for that reason the intelligence was buried because it would make the government (and specifically Mr. Bush Senior) look very bad, the NYT reported a bit on some of the service members and then it was buried.  Likewise, I suspect this to get buried.  Nobody will ever want to raise the idea of revising the case count, acknowledging that perhaps the true number of infected is much lower and we were not "spreading it" like was claimed. 

Because when you question the status quo, instead of debating the science and math, people bring up refrigerator trucks and body bags...and that is just too convenient an image if you don't want to debate the merits of science.

I mean, imagine what would happen if we questioned if the earth was truly round instead of being flat.  Or, that we revolve around the Sun instead of the universe around us...we would probably be locked in a tower somewhere for years...I imagine Poor Galileo having these conversations with his friends in the 1600s before going public.
